California governor signs bill to ban sale of flavored tobacco

9/1/20–California Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill (SB) 793 into law, banning the retail sale of flavored tobacco products in the state, effective January 2021. Written by Senator Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo), the bill was supported by the American Lung Association and the American Heart Association.
