Illinois medical marijuana applicants trending female, older

Screen Shot 2015-10-08 at 12.07.08 PM10/2/15–The patient most commonly seeking a doctor’s blessing to use medical marijuana in Illinois is an older woman in Cook County with either severe fibromyalgia or cancer, according to data published Thursday in a report to the Legislature. The report shows more than one-third of 3,300 completed patient applications submitted through June 30 came from residents of Cook County (1,180 applicants). Sixty percent of applicants were female.
