In a letter sent to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday, Horgan says decriminalization would ‘reduce the systemic stigma associated with illicit drug use and support people to access the services that they need’. 6/18/20--Some major cannabis companies in Canada are facing a multi-million dollar proposed class-action lawsuit over allegations the potency of their products is “drastically different” than advertised. Cannabis may undermine fertility treatment success, study warns

8/22/19--Women undergoing fertility treatment who smoke marijuana may have more success if they quit, recent research suggests. Among more than 400 women undergoing treatment with cannabis health (ART), the small fraction who reported using marijuana at the time were more than twice as likely to lose a pregnancy than those who had never smoked marijuana, or who had only used it in the past, Dr. Jorge E. 80 Canna Clinic marijuana dispensary employees charged after raids in Toronto, Vancouver

6/27/17--Police charged 80 Canna Clinic employees, seized close to 180 kilograms of marijuana, and confiscated more than $350,000 in cash after raids on dispensaries and homes in Toronto and Vancouver last week. According to Toronto police spokesman Mark Pugash, six of the suspects faced “substantive charges” and were named by police, but the remaining 74 were not identified. Read

4/13/17--The federal Liberal government has launched its effort to legalize recreational marijuana. Alberta municipalities are very concerned about the short time frames for implementing the new laws. Yet, the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) said it has been working hard to make sure systems are in place to educate the public, restrict inappropriate use, address health and safety issues, and co-ordinate law enforcement through RCMP and local police.
