Tobacco and cannabis poly-substance and poly-product use trajectories across adolescence and young adulthood

11/3/21–This study characterized the prevalence, patterns, and racial/ethnic and sex differences of developmental trajectories of use and poly-use of 8 different widely-marketed tobacco and cannabis products across adolescence and young adulthood. Results indicate that over 40% of AYAs (adolescents and young adults) were classified into one of four poly-using trajectories involving use of multiple tobacco and cannabis products, including a sizeable subgroup characterized by substantial increases in poly-use after adolescence.
