Vermont’s new marijuana law lacks pathway for local growers and marginalized groups, opponents say

9/25/20–A coalition of advocacy groups are calling on Gov. Phil Scott to veto a bill passed earlier this week that would establish a retail marijuana market in Vermont. The coalition, which includes the Vermont Growers Association and Justice For All Vermont, say S.54 doesn’t offer a clear path for small businesses, farmers and marginalized communities to get in on the emerging cannabis market.
